To determine an approximate cost of the machine quilting process you require you can use the following formula -
- Measure the length and width of the quilt top in inches
- Multiply the length by the width
- Divide by 144, this gives the quilt area in square feet
- Multiply the area by the rate per sq foot, add any additional costs (i.e. borders, loading etc) to get an approximate cost.
For example, a quilt measuring 70 x 70 would be as follows:
70 x 70 = 4900 ÷144 = 34.02 square feet
The cost for quilting an Edge to Edge pattern at $3.50 per foot x 34.02 would cost $119.07
